Our Story

SmartBotGuide was born out of frustration. We were tired of reading product reviews that were clearly written by people who had never touched the product. Spec-sheet regurgitation, Amazon review summaries, and affiliate link farms, none of that helps anyone make a confident buying decision.

So we decided to do things differently. We buy our own test units, put them through real-world scenarios, and publish our honest findings. If a $200 budget robot outperforms a $1,000 premium model in certain areas, we say so. If a product has a deal-breaking flaw, you will read about it here.

Our reviews cover robotic pool cleaners and portable power stations, with more smart home categories coming soon. We focus on these categories because they genuinely make life better, and they are complex enough that a real review matters.

Our Mission

To be the most trusted source for smart home robot reviews on the web. Every article we publish is guided by three principles: accuracy, transparency, and usefulness. If a piece of content does not genuinely help you make a better decision, we do not publish it.

How We Test

Every product we review goes through a standardized testing process:

  • Unboxing and setup: We time how long it takes from opening the box to having the product fully functional. Bad manuals and confusing setups get called out.
  • Performance testing: Pool cleaners are tested in real pools with real debris. Power stations are tested under actual loads. No lab-only results.
  • Daily use simulation: We use each product the way you would. Multiple cycles, different conditions, and long-term durability checks.
  • Comparison scoring: Every product is scored against its direct competitors in the same price range. Value matters as much as raw performance.
  • Re-testing: Top picks are re-tested quarterly. Newly released products are added within 2 weeks of launch.
